Tomorrow, America Rises
How 2,700 communities prepared to say "No Kings!" and why historians will remember October 18, 2025
“Authoritarians fear glitter. It gets everywhere and you can’t control it.”- Unknown protester, Portland
Tomorrow across the United States, 2,700 communities will set out to march for our democracy, six hundred more events registered than in June, when the last wave of No Kings coordinated protests already caught the world’s attention.

That scale alone is remarkable. But the meaning lies deeper than numbers. It signals that Americans from nearly every walk of life are deciding, again, that democracy is not a spectator activity. The energy many of us will feel leading up to tomorrow is the body’s recognition of purpose. Scientists might describe it as a surge of dopamine.
Historians might call it the awareness that the nation is entering one of those rare moments when citizens step forward to defend our country.
Democracy: The swamp they can’t drain. 🐸
The Numbers Tell the Story… But Not All of It
In June, 2,100 communities organized. Politicians called it unprecedented and journalists struggled to capture the scope. Tomorrow, that number rises to 2,700- absolutely incredible and inspiring acceleration!
From Anchorage to Miami, in towns with fewer than a thousand residents and in the country’s largest metropolitan centers, Americans are preparing to gather. The beauty of community on Saturday, will be in the unnoticed details of the day: groups preparing food for marchers, students helping their parents print flyers, retired teachers sewing patches on banners.
Each of these acts might be mundane and quiet, but it builds a national story of people reclaiming the tools of democracy for themselves. When future historians write about this moment, these are the images they’ll use to explain how civic culture is revived: Through shared collective, community, labor.
If there are booths or tents set up near your event, take a few minutes to stop by and explore them. These spaces have more than flyers and stickers, they’re hubs for community connection. You’ll find local organizers, mutual aid groups, and community members who care about the same things you do: protecting democracy, defending rights, and keeping each other safe. Introduce yourself. Ask questions. Pick up resources and find out how to stay involved after the protest ends. This is your chance to build real connections and turn today’s momentum and energy into lasting community.
How to Prepare for the Tomorrow
Practical steps:

Symbolic steps:
Write one sentence about why you are marching and keep it with you.
Place a paperclip where you’ll see it first thing tomorrow as a small reminder of unity and persistence.
Indivisible with No Kings is calling on us to wear yellow tomorrow:
What matters most is that you show up. The power of October 18th isn’t in the color of your clothes, it’s in the presence of your body and voice. Wear yellow if you want to join the wave of color, but don’t let the outfit stop you from being part of history.
QUICK LINKS:
Before You Sleep Tonight
Before you rest tonight, take a moment to remember what participation means.
Your sign will give someone else hope.
Your choice to stand up and protect any and all marginalized communities and say no to fascism shows that we truly are Loving Thy Neighbors.
Your presence tomorrow is a statement that you believe the United States of America is worth defending and deserves to be, the land of the free.
Write one sentence: Tomorrow, I march because…
Tomorrow, Americans across 2,700 communities will once again affirm what our founders risked everything for: No Kings!

No crowns today- just paperclips and tape, holding democracy together, shape by shape. No thrones to polish, no robes to mend, just homemade signs and hearts that won’t pretend. We’re the ones inflating truth from lies, helium hope beneath open skies. No gold-plated power, no royal disguise just laughter rising where fear quietly dies. Operation Inflation: we rise, not bow. No kings then, no kings now. With every clip, with every hand, we’re piecing our country back-- strand by strand.
Tomorrow we make frogs fashionable and fascism unfashionable.
Be safe, be creative, and let tomorrow remind you of the beautiful connection that comes from community. Let joy and courage guide you, even in difficult times. Lean on each other, look out for one another, and take pride in what we’re able to do when we come together. No matter what comes next, today will be remembered as a moment that we fought for democracy.
Stay vigilant,
Blue

Tomorrow I march because I no longer recognize my country.
