Is this technology something we could use to catch speeders and tailgaters. Could wayward drivers get a ticket in the mail? We need the money to combat the climate crisis. Speedsters are creating more of an emissions crisis because that's the nature of aerodynamics. Cars become highly inefficient at fifty mph and above. Insurance companies can benefit with the surcharge for speeding for three years! Making America White through Flock stinks! It's unAmerican. Defies the UN and basic civility to other human beings. It's small and so harmful to people who are already threatened and hurt by their homelands. Where supposed to be the people who honor the Statue of Liberty and all she stands for.🕊️💚
Yes, but these same cities are replacing them with contracts with Axon, a company that is benefiting the Trump Crime Family directly. They apparently bought shares of this company, and right-wing social media influencers have been paid to talk smack about Flock cameras. I wish all of this type of surveillance goes away because they are all treating us like criminals for "future crimes" and monitoring us before we even commit a crime. Policing pre-crime is a 1984 kind of thing, and should not be happening IRL.
I actually celebrated when the intersection near my home got an automated license plate reader (not Flock, another brand). I live in a progressive city in a progressive state, where the police don't do much traffic enforcement. This makes me feel better about letting my kids play outside and cross the street.

That's what cops are for. Don't need cameras for that.
Unless your town defunded the police... Cops in my New England city aren't allowed to pursue speeders anymore. There are tradeoffs.
