On June 14th, Millions of Us Said "No Kings." On October 18th, We're About to Break That Record.
We believe this will be the largest peaceful protest in modern American history is nine days away. Over 2,100 events are already planned.
In nine days, October 18th, millions of us are getting out and speak up. In small towns and big cities all across the nation, 2,100 (and counting!)
This event is planned to be larger than June 14th, which was record breaking in itself.
This is your opportunity to engage in your community, share your story and encourage others to use their voice.
This is planned to be the largest peaceful protest in modern American history and you’re going to be part of it!
The Senate vote (48-51)
The senate voted last week to let the president keep ordering deadly force against drug cartels without asking Congress.
Two Republicans broke: Rand Paul, Lisa Murkowski.
One Democrat voted for unlimited executive power: John Fetterman.
They already used this for Caribbean boat strikes which resulted in at least 21 people dead. Congress still hasn’t seen evidence the boats carried narcotics.
What some people are not understanding is that EVERY future president could inherit this power. Even if you do trust this one, highly doubtful. Will you trust the next?
The Supreme Court case on state power
Colorado banned licensed providers from doing conversion therapy on minors and the Supreme Court took the case. Most justices sounded skeptical during the arguments.
If it falls, 20+ states lose similar protections. This is critical and really about whether states can set healthcare standards at all, or whether central authority can override everything.
Portland’s “War-Ravaged” City
Here is a quick breakdown for those who have missed it:
The White House called Portland “war-ravaged” to justify National Guard deployment.
Portland police chief: “I would not say Portland’s war-ravaged.”
Federal judge blocked it and said justification wasn’t sufficient.
Portlanders showed up to their “war zone” in character/dinosaur suits/costumes.
Here is a clip of “War-Ravaged” Portland from this week that was shared to The 50501 Movement Facebook Group:
Chicago is showing us what’s possible
Tons of people in Chicago took their right to protest to the streets. Michigan Avenue was shut down for an extended period of time. It was organized, peaceful, and people of Chicago are determined to make a statement.
