Voter files record if someone participated in an election, not specifically who they voted for.
Participation data is enough information for organizations to create lists of everyone in a county who voted in 2024 and skipped 2022.
Here are 5 Postcard Projects that you can help with
Postcards to Swing States Campaign
Progressive Turnout Project will mail you postcards with a voter list and message you options that they’ve tested. You have to supply your own stamps and handwriting.
They’re running get-out-the-vote cards for key states and House districts, and a separate boosting campaign aimed towards Texas and Alaska, which both have Senate races this fall.
Their volunteers have written more than 108 million cards since 2020. Their FAQ is helpful if you’re interested in learning more about their campaign before signing up.
Your Vote Counts More Campaign
Signs of Justice gives you voters in swing states who voted in the last election and skipped the midterm.
This Postcard campaign is community-funded, so you’re buying a kit instead of getting it for free.
Field Team 6 Campaign
Field Team 6 has cards with a QR code that takes you straight to registration. You can use your own postcards or buy theirs. Their motto is “Register Democrats. Save the World,” which tells you what you need to know about who they want to win in the upcoming Midterm.
Activate America Campaign
If you want to pick the race, this is a great campaign to look into.
Activate America runs rotating campaigns and lets you choose from what’s currently live, then it sends the addresses and the script(s) for that contest. You provide the cards and the postage.
Postcards to Voters Campaign
Postcards to Voters works in small batches, so you can request a small handful if you choose. You have to be approved as a volunteer first, once you download addresses they want the cards in the mail asap, so try to get them on a day you believe you’ll be committed to sit down and write.
This campaign also rotates through campaigns around the year so when November’s midterm is over, they’ll still be going!
**Helpful tip: Don’t waste a Forever stamp if your card qualifies for postcard postage.
You can use one, however, you’ll be paying 82 pennies instead of 65, (and across 50 cards that’s $8.50 you could spend on more cards...)
