After Tennessee Republicans dismantled the state’s only majority-Black congressional district, the House Speaker stripped Democratic lawmakers from committees for protesting it.
The quickness and ease with which things can get done when there's motivation and urgency is incredible. The flexibility of the law some times and not others is astounding.
Governor Lee’s answering machine leaves no place to leave a message-it must be done by email and I suggest we Swamp his email. Sexton’s machine will take a message—swamp him too. Both deserve a full and lengthy investigation—some nasty dollars are passing hands I suspect. The entire GOP Legislature reeks of corruption so much so that Tennessee, a beautiful state is no longer a desireable place to live.
If write-in candidates are allowed, find a willing Democrat in each district and use any means necessary to spread the word of who to vote for among the now-disinfranchised Dems. The RePubs will be complacent because of Calais, and won't be expecting a groundswell like that. You may not win every district, but you might win a couple, and think about how humiliated the RePubs will be. And it will give the next state the courage to follow your lead.
All this seem to be DJT ugly bigotry. Tennessee & S C African Americans have always be fighting for their rights. Racism seems to worse since 2015 due to DT hate has spread. I hated that man since early 80s when women started suing him for Sexual Assault. He a sickness that needs gone. Removed from people’s houses. He’s divided Americans cause more hate coming out. People must start protesting more Republicans are scared DJT will be removed when they have no power. Power is ugly these Republicans in Congress are not good Americans citizens they will do for themselves not Americans or America. Their pathetic
How long do empires last? Well, I'm old enough to remember hearing the saying "The sun never sets on the British empire." And now there's no longer a British empire. So where will America fit in this historical question? Pretty much where we are now, as Republicans successfully destroy our democracy. Foolish people do foolish things. A bigly foolish person and his equally foolish oligarch buddies are ensconced in our government. The results are evident everywhere with one final conclusion apparent. America's attempt at empire is a total failure. Don't know about the rest of you, but I am so damn tired of hearing nothing other than making a deal from the president, it's enough to make one vomit. America slid slowly into the current condition by ignoring character and substituting celebrity for the most admiral quality in a person. Well folks, what you sow so shall you reap. Watch and learn.

The House has decided to convene in the Old Capitol, the same building where they voted to secede and later to enact Jim Crow. The Senate will convene in the current Capitol. The event is held by the MS Values Project. ✊✊✊
