Tomorrow (Tuesday, Jan. 20) at 2 PM local time is the Free America Walkout a coordinated nationwide action encouraging people to withdraw from “business as usual” (work, school, shopping, nonessential spending) to demonstrate that public participation is not automatic when power escalates.
Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a reminder that nonviolent direct action is strategic disruption, not symbolism.
Minnesota is still under heavy strain, and the clearest way to help is mutual aid & verified amplification & material support through Minnesota community networks.
How to participate, even if you can’t walk out
Participation isn’t binary. If a walkout could risk your job or safety, you can still take part by:
withholding nonessential spending during the action window
sharing the official walkout link
amplifying verified resources
supporting mutual aid / rapid response efforts
