I do think it's important to get discussions going, and act peacefully for what you believe in, but in my opinion, walking out on your employer has nothing to do with the government. Your employer is trying to earn his money and providing a job to you so that you can provide for your family.
Not spending money on a walk-out day doesn't make sense. Who benefits from that? Without commerce, you have nothing.
Solidarity against something bad is good, but I truly have no idea what it is that you are against. Where was your solidarity when they forced the vaccines on us? Where was your solidarity when a tiny part of the population decided that pronouns were more important than learning, and CHILDREN deciding they want to be a different gender, and that there are a "bzillion" genders, just because someone THINKS there are?
Are you against a strong border?
Sending Illegal Immigrants back to where they came from?
Are you against catching fraudsters wasting American citizens' hard-earned tax dollars?
Are you against catching and destroying drug cartels?
Do you WANT to have our people addicted to horrific drugs? Not only the addiction, but that means they need money to get the drugs, which causes theft and criminal activity when they don't/can't work.
Are you against making people that work hard to support their families ask for lazy butts to work and PAY for what they want, rather than put their hands out for freebies?
Are you against people having to buy NUTRITIOUS food for their kids instead of cramming snacks and sugary drinks down their kids' throats?
Are you against having kids play outside and use their imagination, rather than sit them down with a phone or tv to babysit them?
Are you against people actually falling in love, getting married and having a family, rather than having 5 baby-mommas or baby-daddies?
Are you against people having a REASON to get up every morning and EARN a way to meet their goals in life?
Are you against making sure that our kids have quality education and learn the fundamentals in K-12 like being able to read by the time they graduate? How about the useless degrees in the colleges that have absolutely no path to get a job?
These are the things that our administration is trying to work on to protect our citizens and our country. We want people that move here to assimilate to our way of life, speak English, or they are just invaders.
Our forefathers came here for freedom, yet it seems all you people want is for more ways to GROW the dependency on government, yet you cry wolf when someone is trying to actually diminish the need for dependence on government while cutting fraud, waste and abuse.
If these blue cities, including Roanoke, want a good life, then maybe they need to actually understand that working together and teaching people how to sustain themselves rather than put their hands out for freebies is the way to advance.
If you think Socialism is the answer, then ask yourselves why the people from countries where it has FAILED want to come here?
As soon as Trump started getting the illegals deported, "FOR RENT" signs started going up all over the place around here - within a couple of weeks. Don't you realize that "supply and demand" with MILLIONS of extra unvetted people living in our country diminishes that supply? Prices of homes are going DOWN, because with all the extra illegals in the country, it caused a housing crisis - with many of them leaving our country, it is clearing up some. Is that why Roanoke does not allow single family homes to be built anymore??
You people need to stop spewing rhetoric and pay attention to the GOOD that the Trump administration has done. It is not his fault that the Biden Admin let in so many millions of unvetted illegals. Yet he is the one that has to clean it up with very little time to do it.
I love my country, and I love that we have such a diversified mix of LEGAL citizens who made it their goal to live a better life and bring their children up in a wonderful country where you have the ability to raise yourself up if you want to. I call myself a "mutt" because of the varied bloodlines in my ancestry. I had NO hand in who my ancestors were, as did everyone else. In both my husband's and my family, we have mixed marriages with "brown" skin - that is terrific - we are all "humans". We also have gay family members - we do not shame them - that is their choice, but they don't cram it down our throats, either.
I grew up VERY poor, yet my mother instilled in us that you need to do your best no matter what. I became a good self-sustaining adult without anyone giving me a dime. I worked from the time I was 12, doing any job that a kid could do until I could get real working papers. I bought my own car and paid my own insurance when I got my license, by saving MY money. I bought gifts for my family and friends since I was 5 out of my OWN money, before I bought things for myself. I paid my mother 25% of my take home pay for "board" until I moved out and got married at 19 years old. She taught me that obligations come FIRST. When I moved back to my stepfather's home at age 27 to save money when building a house after selling my first fixer-upper home (which we got when I was 22 and we both had only entry level jobs), I paid my stepfather's mortgage each month and my husband and I bought and made our own meals. We did not freeload at any point - it was much cheaper that way for me, and a win-win for all of us.
There's 2 little girls that come around wanting to shovel snow around here. I let them do it and paid them way too much because they took the initiative. THAT is how most Republicans feel life should be. PRIDE in what we can accomplish. It starts with parents teaching their children how to LEARN and WORK to be good adults and NOT take advantage of others. All of us working TOGETHER, not fighting against common sense just for talking points. You need to work on what can be DONE to make your own life better, not just fighting constantly against that common sense. Go back to what the Democrat politicians have said in the past, and they have SUPPORTED the things Trump is doing - until it was Trump doing it. This is a FACT. It is a shame that people are not doing their own due diligence.
