I am very fortunate to be spending Thanksgiving with my family who are all compassionate liberals. We will even be joined by my son’s friend so she can escape her right wing family. Peace to you all!

Heard a new one yesterday. Had surgery. Made a point to compliment my nurse before he put the IV in, telling him I think nursing is a noble profession. He said Trump just changed the status of nursing to lower the cost of nursing education so he was really doing nurses a big favor. You can’t make it up.

At least he was good at getting the IV in. I struggled with what emotion to feel. It was a muddle of wondering about the mental gymnastics it takes to get to that conclusion and feeling sorry for him that he is so damn gullible. How much other ridiculous bs is in his head, somehow fully justified? I was thankful when the anesthesia kicked in. MAGA relief.

Friendship is a blessing I'm so thankful for! They believe as I do and no MAGA hats at the table.

Thank you for this levity and common sense advice for what can be a minefield of misery.

Thank you for all you do for us 💙🇺🇸

My history with my family has never been ' tight'. Way back in the 80's is when I started withdrawing from them. Their toxicity was too much. I didn't need that kind of pain. So, it's been that long that I've spoken to them. Out of 6, I only spoke with the oldest sister. Now that's even fractured, she was hoping for trump to win. Ok, trump won. Now, how the hell are you going to cope with sky rocket health insurance? She didn't like Kamala because of her 'laughter'. A true maga. We used to talk often, not anymore. So, my Thanksgiving will be filled with love just me and my son.

I don't out up with bullshit. Life is too short.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. 🦃

My Thanksgiving should be low-stress and comfortable, wth a small family gathering. But this morning, my thoughts can't help but go to those whose lives are so disrupted by Drumpty and his allies. The immigrant families, particularly those for whom a breadwinner has been kidnapped, for those who are food insecure, and or whose housing and healthcare situations have been made worse under this cruel "administration." I think about our Ukrainian brothers and sisters, living under the threat of missiles, while rich men play games with their futures. I think about dying children, deprived of even the most low-cost foods that would allow them to live, for no better reason than the ultra-rich's pure greed. If you pray, pray for them especially. And continue to find ways to provide them with some practical kindness. I send you love and strength today.

The one rule we have at Thanksgiving is talking no politics and no religion.

Spending Thanksgiving with my sister and brother in law’s family. Most thankfully are liberals. The MAGA folks, except for 1 family, are not coming to dinner and there is a strict no politics policy. However, spending Christmas with my MAGA daughter and her family. They have two teenage children. Thank you for your tips. Hoping to at least offer them some food for thoughts.

These questions are exactly what I would like a trump supporter to answer. Without arguing or resorting to belittling comments back, so

as to skirt the subject. I seriously want to know. There are hard scientific and long proven facts against

what he has sacrificed for greed. I actually wonder if trump supporters just don’t want to admit they voted for the wrong person.

Perhaps the most informative and useful article in some time. We celebrated with old friends who have unfortunately joined the dark side. All was well when red topics came up and a few of us pardoned ourselves from the table. I was encouraged that one member stuck with the facts that were hard to argue. The conversation concluded and we returned to our meals. Wishing you and all peace and a heartfelt Thanksgiving.

What in the world is 15 minute cities???

It's a city where most of what you need (work, shopping, education, healthcare, and leisure, etc.) are a 15 minute walk, bike ride, or public transit ride from where you live. It's meant to reduce the dependency on cars and increase availability of services.
