Thanks again for the timely information. I shared this summary with my representatives and across social media.
I encourage everyone to advocate for our shared interests by contacting our representatives with the information provided below! Let’s make our voices heard!
This week, I request my House and Senate representatives to address these seven issues that are up for discussion or votes this week (the last one is for my Senator ONLY) as follows:
1. **Oppose a Clean Extension of Section 702**
Any renewal of Section 702 must include a warrant requirement for searches involving American citizens. Our constitutional protections should not be compromised in a rushed extension.
2. **Oppose Funding Expansions for ICE and Border Patrol without Accountability**
I urge you to reject any increase in funding for ICE and Border Patrol without stringent accountability measures and oversight to prevent abuses. The proposed budget lacks necessary reforms, such as warrant requirements and independent oversight.
3. **Support Legislation Protecting TPS Holders**
With the Supreme Court set to review TPS (Temporary Protected Status), Congress should protect TPS holders from mass termination and ensure they maintain work authorization and family unity.
4. **Protect OSHA and NLRB Enforcement**
On Workers Memorial Day and approaching May Day, please defend OSHA and NLRB enforcement, support workers’ rights to organize, and oppose budget cuts that undermine these protections.
5. **Protect Consumers and Workers' Right to Hold Companies Accountable**
The Supreme Court case on federal pesticide law could shield Monsanto from accountability regarding health risks. We must protect individuals' rights to hold corporations responsible.
6. **Reject Cuts to EPA Enforcement**
I ask you to oppose proposed cuts to the EPA, which threaten clean air, clean water, and environmental justice programs. Weakening enforcement only removes accountability.
7. **Oppose Kevin Warsh’s Nomination without Commitments to Protect Fed Independence**
I urge you to oppose Kevin Warsh’s nomination to chair the Federal Reserve unless he commits to safeguarding its independence from political interference, which is vital for the economy.
This is great! Issues and legislation like this is where the current regime is doing so much damage to us and our country. Most of us would never make time to research all this. Thank you for helping us fight fascism.
Called both senators and commented on all of the issues. Also voiced disappointment regarding democratic senator who voted to confirm Markwayne Mullen as DHS secretary Will try rep again as message too lengthy for voicemail.
I think I just sent emails on all of them to each member and added sime of my own comments and links to facts like EPA and Musk lawsuits for ignoring! I love this and will refer to it regularly! Thank you!
Thank you for these clear direct actions to take. Just called about Section 702 and will knock off 2/day
Done. Called and emailed on all asks.
