Immigrants and finding housing . Investigate the costs of both ICE program and housing and compare it with the ideal of providing housing to the homeless and those in danger of homelessness. Which would the better investment?
Target: Have you assessed the states and voting districts for performance during your NoKings campaigns? I live in SC and was impressed with the turnout for the second event in October. I have talked to my Republican neighbors and many are disturbed by the many weird, contradictory, and unexpected actions. I have heard comments from Democrat and Republican folk that SC was considered so Red that the local democrats felt little effort was made on both local and national level. Greenville and the Upstate is a rapidly growing population, mostly from newcomers from other states and countries. It merits a new consideration for picking up a seat for the Congress and everyone seems to be tired of Lindsey Graham.
My point here is that these new pockets of new blood are growing in a number of regions and it is imperative that we id and assess their potential for additional sympathetic lawmakers. We need to work with local communities to identify potential leaders for development of their skills and resources to rapidly expand interest in what the Democratic Party has to offer SC.
Another campaign in SC Upstate that is better organized and has a better communication system and more space or better use of space for the crowd would create more energy and excitement before the midterms.
Target: Military
This is an important target. Trump is clearly coercing the military with surprise forced oath taking that binds the military to himself to use to punish future public gatherings. This a classic move often used by would-be dictators. Ultimately, how they end up depend on the interests of the military. We need to include veterans as well as the enlisted to help counteract the narrative of radical left wing radicals and domestic democratic terrorists! At least having the military refuse to fire on well behaved, peacefully and friendly protestors would be more assured. So, I think that your training of the “ushers” at the previous marches should be intensified to assure the “right” atmosphere and outcome. I fully believe that having a throng of locals with children, light-hearted comedy and so on is very disarming and reassuring to military and police. Bathroom facilities would be great. Veterans can be reached through their own organizations.
Power of the purse? Congress would have to approve (which I’m sure they would because they like spending our tax money on socialism and payoffs to the military to keep them quiet while they follow illegal orders).
