Let’s wear them every day, not just 10/18!

Absolutely agree with you! 🖇

Yeah…That'll make all the difference.

Been wearing one on the bill of my “Gulf of Mexico” ball cap.

Wearing one everyday till Shitler and his band of tramps and thieves are a bad memory. Now that’s a history book to ban! No need to revisit the stupidity and chaos created by a man baby!

Saw E Jean Carroll calling for this weeks ago and have worn one ever since💙

We have been getting messages asking to post about paperclips 📎 Thank you E Jean Carroll!

Me too. I don't wear lapel clothes. But I've been attaching a 📎 to the drawstring on my hoodie.

Becky's avatar

Yes, every hat my life partner and I wear has a paperclip 📎 after reading E Jean's article 😊

Get creative. There are lots of cool paperclips out there.

Paperclip bracelets, earrings, hair accessories, shoe lace accessories, nail decor… so many possibilities!

what will this accomplish? These marches need to have a clear set of demands. Wearing a paperclip does nothing.

I learned about the paper clip project a couple months ago. I keep one on the jackets I wear daily (and to rallies!). Now that the cooler months are fast approaching and we’re wearing jackets more routinely, my paper clip easily goes with me everywhere 🤣 I’d love to see more folks wearing them, so thank you for helping to spread this♥️♥️ The solidarity we could all feel wearing paper clips alone would be worth it!!!

Ofc! 🩵 Thank YOU for wearing them and helping get the word out 🖇📎

Big love to @E. Jean Carroll for bringing this subtle act of resistance back!

I will most definitely wear a paperclip. And also pass the word.

I'm so glad this is coming back! I've had paperclips on my clothes since January.

This is the sort of performative insanity that assures me we've already lost our nation. Not just that the liferaft of the constitution is blown, but that the majority of “the opposition" refuses to live in that reality. Remember the safety pins? It was safety pins and most recently bracelets. Instead of accessories, build community that is insulated, protective of the most vulnerable, and utilizes mutual aid. Read authors like Timothy Snyder and Ruth Ben Ghiat (in publication and here on substack) and zines like https://open.substack.com/pub/ladylibertie?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=3hvuqu

We are so far past performative action and friendship bracelets. Children are being dragged into the streets naked, ziptied and thrown in Uhaul vans in our cities. Get bolder than wearing office supplies.

I do read lots by those and more. At this moment we need it all…..of course supporting those in need but to be able to help them the most we need more people. Curious people will ask why are you wearing paperclips… we need every tool out there to get attention just as we go about our daily routines.

I said my comment in both anger and love. I get it that we want to do this and the other thing. My frustration is more with the 50501 and this sort of action that ignores good data or utilizing emergent strategy, instead doing what amounts to busy work and big marches that will be a blip in the news cycle and forgotten. We need actionable items that disrupt, real toolkits and information for combatting absuctions, realworld guides for living under authoritarianism... As Nina Simone said in Mississippi Goddamn, "too slow." Our hearts are in the right place and our hands, feet, and heads should be too. This regime is not playing by the rules, the fight is so much further along than we know, and we will all have to get on board with greater discomfort to help our neighbors and ourselves. May you be safe and well. Thanks for doing your part in this big weird world.

Bitch WHO'S GOING TO ASK U why YOU'RE WEARING A PAPER CLIP?

And will your answer be “for the poor brown and black people being terrorized”?

George jarrard's avatar

On target, Elisheva! Thank god for a voice of sanity.

This was a great article. I will wear one, buy many and use this email to share the story!!

Thank you for helping the resistance grow!

Oops sent other before I was done. Thank you for this very inspiring history I had never heard about. I find myself often thinking…. what would I have done in a Nazi controlled country and even more now as more and more of our rights are being taken away. Thank you for the info about those brave Norwegians. I now know what I would have done and what I must do.

Ordered two protest signs with QR codes using your images, and will be passing out paper clip resistance handouts - and paper clips! Restacked!

YES!

Yes, I will continue to attend any and all until the MADNESS has stopped. Now the paper clip will help identify like minded people. I feel energized and my depression is but at bay for a day! I am sharing, posting, and getting the word out as much as possible. Bringing people out knowing they are not alone!

The 50501 Movement's avatar

Stay strong 🩵 thank you for everything you're doing!

Colorado Clark's avatar

I handed out the print out with the QR code held together with a paper clip today, I ran out so fast EVERYBODY wanted one!

Helped make my heart 💙 feel better. Hugs 🫂 from complete strangers today standing united together today felt good!!!

My husband and I wear paperclips. I carry extra to give away.

Robin P's avatar

Yes…I wear my shirts and hats every day! I have had several confrontations and will never stop speaking the truth!

I protested in the 60’s and 70’s never thinking I would be out there again.

This old lady won't give up so let's all stand together and make this work

Stay safe and loud 💜

I have my paperclips!
