Stop spending now, except on essentials. Defer spending, as much as possible, especially on big ticket items, until after the election.
Shop, but don’t buy. Defer that gratification for a short while.
It’s important to stop spending now so there will be two quarters of bad economic news before the election.
“It’s the economy, stupid” as James Carville famously told Bill Clinton. It was then, and still is, in politics. The reelection of His Royal Heinous is largely attributed to the state of the economy, misrepresented as it was by HRH.
HRH will not destroy the economy on his own (TACO). He’s already retreating from his ill conceived war with Iran because of the damage it’s doing to the economy.
He will find a way to prop it up (like lower interest rates) because the economy is his key to keeping power.
I am resisting because I believe in liberty and justice for all. Not just rich white men. I sacrificed my health and earning potential in service to this country because of this belief. I took an oath to the Constitution and to defend this nation against all enemies foreign and domestic. I do it because it’s the right thing. I will not sit by and let a fascist regime destroy our nation, our freedoms and commit genocide.
So my grandchildren can live in a better world! To protest and protect the constitution. To get the damn Epstein filed fully released and hold people accountable!
I have shown up to every No Kings march because as a retired American history teacher her who taught the Holocaust every year, I want my students to know I was not a bystander and stood up for the hard fought freedoms we studied. This is not the America I taught them to honor.
We march because we must. Our numbers continue to increase, our strength is showing. We shall succeed as history will record our resolve to defend our freedoms from the amoral attempts to stifle us. And as we stand against Trump and all the heidious actions he's brought upon us, it's worth noting a recent article in Fortune magazine. America is insolvent. Our assets are a little more than six trillion dollars, out debts exceed forty five trillion dollars. By any accounting we are broke. And the master of bankruptcy is in charge. Could this be a conundrum? Stay tuned.
I'm showing up! I hate seeing what the regime is doing to our country and our people. I write to my congress people several times a week. I'm part of a Visibility Brigade bringing messages on overpasses to commuters. I go to a weekly protest as often as I can, and others as they pop up. I'm in this for the long haul. Hopefully my grandchildren will be able to live in a more sane world.
Our Constitution is a sacred document. It represents the hopes and dreams of people across the globe who should be recognized and accepted for who they are. It has enabled black, latino, women, non-Christians and all other marginalized people to learn and know they are equal to the founding fathers. Our Constitution has given ALL people hope for a country that accepts them for who they are, their gifts, and their patriotic support.
Trump is systematically destroying that Constitution, one executive order after another. He has squashed the deliberating body of Congress through intimidation. He's a white nationalist who seeks to strip away the rights of all others, to raise up the oligarchs, to isolate the US from the rest of the world, destroying the community of nations that has kept much of the world safe from warfare for eight decades. He and his team of sycophants need to be held accountable for their lawlessness and destruction of our Constitution.
The continued bravery of the Argentinean women is so inspiring. Electoral politics directed to the 2026 midterms is essential to stop Trump’s reign of terror. However, mass protests are also necessary to show the strength of the opposition and to collectively commune with the millions of kindred spirits. On this Saturday, March 28th, we all must hit the streets in masse to demonstrate that we have had enough and will be putting an end to this travesty in November. So, by all means, after Saturday, we must continue to work towards the wave that will sweep Republicans out of our political lives, but the first priority on Saturday is to gather in extraordinary numbers in peaceful protest of Trump World – a dystopian world that the American people must no longer accept. Be part of the explosion of humanity that just wants to breathe together again, commune together again, and blossom together again.
