We need to transition our organized protests into organized acts of non-violent resistance: general strikes, blocking the entrances of federal buildings (that are still open), etc. The Regime gets stronger with each passing day.

Susan Douglas's avatar

Indivisible's One Million Rising is doing just that

Robin Liberte’'s avatar

Yes, I attended the first call. It was great! I definitely can see how the small community gatherings we’re organizing can end up at taking a non-violent civil disobedience approach. Let’s hope so!

And boycotts, don't forget those.

The evidenced plan for the controlled demolition of the U.S. is the 1966 Cloward-Piven strategy. In very simple terms, the strategy entails overwhelming a nation’s systems in order to bankrupt it and so things like rampant and unmitigated illegal immigration and borrow/spend policies bear down directly as components of that strategy.

What you’re advocating is: Implementing Cloward Piven to destroy our social systems then using the census to secure more congressional/electoral seats….to stay in power!

(Insert cognitive dissonance now!)

This is exactly what my husband has been doing through Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/share/1CqqKnsneQ/?mibextid=wwXIfr) and he’ll be organizing the local protests as he’s heading outreach for the Ohio Democratic Party in this area.

Um, can we not can the rage and protest in peace and solidarity??? Really, I am so TIRED of rage. It's a term of violence and it begets violence. I am a protester of several events. What has most impressed me and inspired me is joyful community standing together.

Rebecca Lovewell's avatar

I attended a mass non-compliance planning meeting on July 16th. One of the most striking points in the discussion was a moment when the speaker said that the regime wants us to start quibbling over tactics.

They are counting on us to self-sow division within the opposition movement.

Some people are going to rage against the regime. Some people are going to protest happily. Some are going to decide to block entrances to federal buildings. Some are going to stand outside the Heritage Foundation and call their employees Nazis. Some are going to grow community gardens. Some are going to challenge the brown shirts.

It will take all these approaches at once. We stand a much better chance of defeating this fascist regime if we remember every person's freedom to respond to this in their own way.

Donna Young's avatar

Yes, yes, yes! I have been alarmed today by amount of criticism lobbed at some team members for not protesting "properly".....WTF... STOP IT!!!! Any way you can, any time you can. Everything all at once, all the time. (But don't forget to take breaks, hydrate, and get good sleeps too 🥰 )

Yes! I completely agree. “Rage Against the Regime” is not what's needed. “Turning Our Rage Into Action” is what we should be doing (because we are starting to do it).

Jennifer Gensch DPWL's avatar

I take it as we are angry at the regime. So, we peacefully protest because of that rage. Also, the song they used for the inspiration is an amazing protest song. It’s one of my happiest angry songs.

Thank you sir...may I please have another?

I don't think you understand what the authors of this strategy intended. It's certainly not applicable to anything I've said here.

If you did intend to try to answer this call to action with your response, you're way off base. If so, I imagine you want to attempt to disrupt coordinated resistance efforts. It will not work.

If you made your comment in error as a response to me and it was meant for someone else, perhaps you can copy it, delete your response to me, and then go paste it where it's more fitting.

I wish all the groups, Indivisible etc could unite.

We do not need events every 2 weeks.

We need big important ones, monthly at most and on weekends.

We risk making the same mistake as the Democratic Party, diluting the message and impact.

Agent of Chaotic Respite's avatar

I’ve seen, in at least some cases, that 50501 and Indivisible co-sponsor events.

Indivisible just had a day of action on July 17 - Good Trouble Lives On. My local group (Las Vegas) held an overpass resistance event and hosted a vigil in honor of John Lewis. Our next day of action is July 26 - Families First protest. The other major initiative right now is 1 Million Rising, which is training on noncooperation tactics.

No, we need a big one, millions in DC. Shut the city down and demand the arrest of the administration, the Heritage Foundation (their office is right there) and the Epstein Files. We need the names of the millionaires and billionaires and everyone on there that are funding this and are pedophiles. We know the orange turd is on there. If it takes 2, 3, or 4 days paralyze the city. That’s a message they can’t ignore.

Participate when you can. The National Protests are definitely organized within all of the groups

Vickie Berry's avatar

Yes, it seems many are having a hard time knowing where to look for rallies in their area.

Nosmallact.com - This group is connecting these organizations with each other. They are doing it county by county. In my country lead. Look them up, you might like what they’re doing.

Listening to the Good Trouble Lives On webinar last night, I heard about another national protest this weekend! Sounded great but first I heard.

The No Kings effort was successful as everyone got on board, and we shared the Mobilize app. For Hands On, Protest Hear Round The World… groups could utilize Mobilize for 5 events or under 50 registrations. So the ability to use that unless upgrading to a + $1500 fee is not feasible for most volunteer groups organizing.

Indivisible has the resources but not going the same direction. I also listened to their One Million Rising, and how they are trying to organize. The problem? More apps, more data gathering, more confusion for attendees to our protests trying to figure out who is who… Political Revolution, Discord, Empower… Furthermore, what volunteer organizer has time to sit through all of these webinars and determine the best info to sift to our concerned attendees?

Our attendees want to protest. They have built up angst and want to shout out to our surrounding red community. The feeling of No Kings was what we want to keep going, and can if groups line up with messaging.

We are a non-partisan group, mostly Democrats (though I am a Dem and most are). This has brought in many new faces and younger people. Of course the goal is to educate and register people, get good candidates… but in the meantime, we need to build this outcry of new people caring.

How do we get our events to show up on national maps?

Donna Young's avatar

Respectfully disagree. We aren't scheduling a dental appointment. We need events EVERY FUCKING DAY. Go once a month on a Saturday if that's what works for you. Some of us go every chance we get. Having said that...it's important to remember that regular mental health breaks are important too.

Human Cares's avatar

As an organizer, we need a cohesive message to get the info out. Are you organizing? Just new to this and I’m looking for ways to help build up these messages. What are your methods for outreach? Are you using Mobilize? How do you spread the word?

I want attendees to find out events just by typing in a word or two with our city’s name. If everyone has a different protest/theme/ idea- this is not going to happen.

I tried using that Political Revolution for Hands On. It was wonky and it was right when Musk was Doging everything- hence I was distrustful of who was gathering our info. Mobilize is tried and true. And it connects people to other events occurring politically.

Yes, the more protesting the better- as long as everyone is helping to organize, sitting through webinars, using that info to build coalitions and strengthen the message. Remember, the orange felon is who we are after.

Mentally and physically folks can’t show up nonstop. It’s not like these events are magically occurring. I’ve met with police chiefs, sheriff, safety director, corresponded with mayor… wrote letters, press releases before and after, helped lead events, held meetings… are you doing the same? Respectfully looking for cohesiveness.

Don't know how I missed this…

I started by following my Permaculture guru turned politico, Angela Baker (start with Parkrosepermaculture on YouTube). She turned me on to indivisible.org and I located my local chaper. They have lots of tools and hold zoom and in person meetings for stratagizing. And strict rules fir non-violent protests. We also have an active 5051 group so we can tag team. I'm not tech savvy and participating nationally doesn't work for me.

My AI generated answer says they announced their 2025 tour and tickets are supposed to be on sale through Vivid seats. I can't find tour dates yet, but we should definitely keep our eyes open. I can't think of a better moment for them to do this.

United we stand! We do need all groups coming together at least monthly, we are doing weekly Saturday TT protests in Richmond, morphing to TAKEDOWN TYRANY from Tesla. Includes all the power mongers who hate America. Nationally though need to descend on DC with 2 to 3 million, surround capital and Whitehouse and demand they listen. Sit, block area until we get results. All, ideas on getting this accomplished?

Glad to see hundreds of actions taking place tomorrow Aug 2. But New York City? Not finding anything in the five boroughs.

MrEdgarBass's avatar

Thanks for the response. I see a few actions here and there that all look worthy. However they are all small and don’t appear to be affiliated with Hands Off, No Kings, or Rage Against Regime. I think I need to kick up my involvement a notch. Attend virtual training (or in person) and learn strategy. Set up my own action. I am in touch with a couple of different groups that will support. We are many. We are right.
