Cannot get over confident with this regime! Still hearing farmers who losing their livelihood say, “trump is a smart man!” Really? Keeping the pressure on is critical.

Cognitive dissonance can be tough to overcome, especially when you believe with your whole being that you made the right choice. Hopefully we can overcome this hurdle and show people the mistakes that are being made!

The majority of voters are not informed and local news has stopped reporting anything Trump doesn't want said. I have little hope that people will know or remember a year from now.

Yes, that would be a shame. I wrote all their names down and given the opportunity, when they run for re election, I will remind them.

That’s why we need to make sure that we are sharing this information when possible; assuming people won’t listen just means those that will listen won’t hear us.

Maybe we should mail copies of Virginia’s book to our GOP Reps and Senators with some of the emails paper clipped to the front

The epstein files represent the darkest of corruption for trump ..it is not about his money ..it is about his victims. Now the entire country is his victim. Those young girls need to show all young people that WE THE PEOPLE CARE.

If he has nothing to worry about in the Epstein files, he’d release them. Wanting to keep them hidden makes it obvious that he is who we know him to be.

We will remember because he keeps doing dumb things! Now he's sending an aircraft carrier to the Caribbean AND is planning to send troops to ... Nigeria! The last for their treatment of people while HE wants to withhold food (SNAP and ACA subsidies) from Americans!

There's been too many people, from all sides (not a partisian issue, an American issue) for this shutdown to leave memory. Too many fed workers have been fucked over. They and their families and friends will hold onto these 43 days; this shutdown and the reasons in this substack, everyone will vote to do something. We are making change, we have to break through to each other in person, we have to research who we are electing and we have to hope that Jan 30th they fucking keep the government open.

With less than a 19% voter turnout in my county this month, I feel we have work to do in getting folks to pay attention.

Consumerism and day-to-day social media noise has taken over people's lives, blocking their attention from what matters I'm afraid.

To be fair, it was an off-year election. That’s why we need to get the word out now, so that the midterms next year work in the country’s favor.

I want to believe that voters will be able to remember all of the reasons why come election day, but there is so much propaganda being spread I can't let down the guard and have to keep the pressure on high. Is this hurting me physically and mentally? Hell yeah! Stress is a killer. But so is the fall of democracy. I will sacrifice to maintain democracy for the future generations!

Unfortunately, their propaganda machine has quite a few people blaming the left for everything, including the shutdown. We have to make sure we make it clear this was a part of the MAGA plan, they strip rights and make life harder while making it seem like it’s our own fault.

Best boycott ever and those democrats gave them what they wanted, and no guarantees we'll even see all the Epstein files.

The Senate did not achieve the impossible – getting the Republicans to release all the hostages. However, ending the shutdown at this point did achieve many goals: hungry children will receive SNAP funds, the House has reopened, and the Epstein files are on the way to being released. The just-go-along-with-it Republicans in Congress will most likely have to go on record with their votes in the upcoming budget battle. By keeping the shutdown going for as long as it did, the intentional cruelty of the strategy of those in power has been exposed at a level that is impossible to ignore.

Extending the government shutdown would not have better achieved our goals. Instead, it would have ratcheted up the fear, anger, and frustration that already fuels the tear-the-system-down mentality which keeps the other side in power.

Going to another local Rally against Trump and his regime tomorrow. He is so corrupt, a felon, a pedofile to name just a few of his many, many faults!

Thankfully, despite their attempts to circumnavigate the rule of law, they haven’t been as successful as they want to be. They are running into enough roadblocks that hopefully, if Trump remains president until 2028, we are able to oust him and his MAGA allies from every aspect of government.
