Great work, everyone! Don’t let the naysayers get you down. You Showed Up. That Wasn't 'Performative.'

No Kings III was the tip of a massive iceberg. The movement underneath it is the part the cynics don't see.

Great job in helping organize! There are estimates of 11,000 in Asheville, NC. I was there and it seemed enormous!

We gotta keep up the pressure!

No Kings #3 was larger than the second one, good sign for an American awakening against the amoral administration now in power. Trump's continued conduct of dictatorship is devouring our democracy, destroying our freedoms and placing our country outside the honorable standards which founded America. The shameful low lifes leading this destruction are a disgrace. How about making No Kings #4 on June 14th an 80th birthday present for Trump an event even more massive. What better way to illustrate how great a failure he is. For indeed he's a total failure, in everything, beginning with the ability of being humane. America must stop sinking into the depths of degradation and regain its honor and integrity.

Please ignore Indivisible’s timid proposal, and instead, engage in a General Spending Strike.

The following is from an email by Indivisible:

“Gearing up for a national day of economic disruption on May Day. We always say mass mobilizations are just one tactic. Economic disruption is another tactic. And it’s most successful when you’ve done the work to build a large, broad-based coalition of folks ready for higher-level actions. So now, the ground is laid for May Day Strong’s national day of “No school, no work, no shopping” to put the oligarchs enabling Trump’s power grabs on notice.”

From Peaceful Solution:

This proposal is 14 months late and far too timid. They should have been proposing economic disruption simultaneously with the street protests. Remember, Indivisible is an offshoot of the Democratic Party, so the timidity should not be surprising. Their proposed one day economic disruption will have absolutely no effect, except to disappoint those participating and give a good laugh to the fascists and billionaires.

We are in the middle of a five alarm fire, and while most of the country remains oblivious, too many in the resistance are wasting time discussing how to organize and implement a fire department. What’s needed from the general public is total non cooperation and a General Spending Strike( Spending Strike, economic disengagement, economic disruption, general boycott, whichever you prefer). NOW!

We, the People, can’t easily or safely withhold our tax dollars that are allowing this corrupt government to function. Our tax dollars fund the fascist takeover.

But as consumers we can indirectly withhold our tax dollars. Consumer spending is about 70% of the economy. That spending ends up as tax dollars.

How much do you want to stop His Royal Heinous and the fascist takeover of the country?

Enough that you’re willing to make a small sacrifice? Like altering your spending habits for a month or two or three? That could be all it would take to get the attention of the oligarchs (formerly known as The Robber Barons in the first Gilded Age, also The Fat Cats, The Greedy Bastards).

A brief demonstration of We, the People’s, power of the purse could persuade them to quit supporting HRH and the politicians who enable him.

This small, painless sacrifice will not be permanent. It only needs to last long enough so that the billionaires realize that We, the People, still wield the power.

Our small neighborhood group, comprised mainly of senior citizens, has been protesting every other week for over a year. We are not associated with any organization so our No Kings Day turn out is not included in your figures. Our usual turnout is between 35 and 50. On March 28, 105 enthusiastic protesters participated! Perhaps you can add us to your count.

Great! But I went to Lansing one, and it seems the organizers there didn’t get the memo that this is a pro-democracy movement and not about promoting a laundry list of progressive causes and identity politics. I'm not talking about individuals in the crowd and their signs, I'm talking about the organizers and their messaging.

We need to defend the Constitution against an attempted authoritarian takeover. If our republic survives the immediate threat, then we will need to enact reforms to uphold majority rule and rule of law, such as protecting voting rights and lifting the 435-member cap on Congress. Once the democratic process is secure, we can hash out all that other stuff.

Also, about that 3.5% metric, remember Goodhart's Law: "When a measure becomes a target, it ceases to be a good measure".

I was proud to show up with 255 strong in my little city of Yankton, SD despite 40mph wind gusts that snapped the ruler that held my sign right off! Some of our more infirm couldn't brave the temps & wind, but they were with us in spirit! I walk with a cane & sometimes had to slow down, but I didn't stop! My favorite Pic is "the lady that always dresses up", which is actually her FB ID! Here's how she was dressed on Saturday! SAVE OUR COUNTRY!

I was a part of the No Kings 3 march in San Diego. Its was a great experience and you got the reported number correct but whoever fed you guys that picture, it was not the San Diego waterfront. Check your resources. I don’t want us to be considered “fake news”.
