When we talk about taking back control of our Democracy, it has to start at the local level. Miami, FL turning over the Mayor’s seat to a blue candidate is exactly how we win. We are still under water in a lot of states, counties, municipalities, cities and communities… but we are making gains.
This site is very informative at just how many elected official seats we have gained and addresses how these elected officials can choose appointed officials in other important leadership positions to push out the MAGAs.
Engage in what is happening around you as it matters and will stop a complete authoritarian takeover of our country by rich people who have no use for us as we sit unemployed, homeless, ill, penniless, hungry, cold, and more.
"You can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool all of the people all of the time," seems to be a fitting description of Trump's faltering grasp to destroy our freedoms. Each passing day reveals another aspect of his disgraceful character. We shall be rid of him eventually. He is a straw man, and the winds of resistance are about to blow him down. Trump is the KKK without the white sheets. He is ruthless in his desire for dominance. Never believe that defending our freedoms is futile. Nothing is more important than protecting freedom for humanity.
I suggest that a focus on the actual costs of Trump's insanity. First: where's the money? What happened to all the Doge "savings"? (Prove the Fraud and Theft). How much of all this money gone to pay down the deficit? Next, How much has each Trump initiative cost? How are they being paid for (e.g. how much is coming out of our pockets? ) How much has Trump enriched himself on our time and taxes? We've got to fight like a competitive CEO.
I wouldn't be above pointing our their hypocrisy: religious and otherwise. Mike Johnson says women can't compartmentalize. Either he can and is a hypocrite or, he can't and his authoritarian Nationalist Christian view is supporting non-Christian values. Strong women is another issue.
Sue. Sue. Sue. Find the money or go pro bono but Sue when we can, where we can, as often as we can. Make Trump pay for a change. (And I'm no lawyer).
