We need to do one just about impeaching Trump. We need to get the whole nation to scream Impeach Trump!!! Hope you read this 🙏🏼

Stormy's avatar

I think we should do this every month or so until this current administration is removed.

Nancy Kanzenbach's avatar

I think every week until repubs in congress get a clue! Halt everything they try to do!

Stormy's avatar

I agree. I was thinking instead of May 1, the demonstration should be on Saturday or Sunday to invite latin Americans as well for sinco de Mayo

Caroline Hillen's avatar

We’ve been rallying about twice a month!

Mommadukes's avatar

Yes! Have it on a weekend

Phyllis Robinson's avatar

There is a chant further in comments about Impeach or lose your seats that is perfect chant and if serving every city, people take videos of crowds and chant would be amazing to make go viral on internet since main stream media doesn’t cover like it should!!!

So agree with this👏🏼

I really would like to see this next one work to incorporate Republican groups against Trump. The message needs to be clear. Constitution vc dictatorship in my opinion. The more inclusive, the better❤️

You may need this to happen but it cannot occur yet. We have a minority in the House. Impeachment occurs in the House. If for some weird reason some of the Republicans vote for Impeachment. The Impeachment moves over to the Senate to begin the trial to convict him of the charges that we are bringing against him. To find him guilty it requires 2/3 of the Senate, I think it’s 67 Senators to vote to convict him. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court is the Judge. If he’s not available then the VP is the judge. That would be that guy that shakes hands with the Pope and he dies the next morning, J.D.Vance.

It’s not possible unless there are many republicans that vote for conviction.

Exactly right. We need to focus our energy and efforts into areas where we have actual influence. Amplifying the voices of the oppressed has helped expedite several cases in the courts. Highlight the corruption and bring it out of the darkness.

Would love to hear messaging ideas so we can have a cohesive presence out there! LFG.

Msg to Congress: “STANDUP”, “IMPEACH”, “OR LOSE YOUR SEAT”

Susan Jane McCulley's avatar

Oh, I thought the focus was on writing families.

Paul Patenaude's avatar

I thought I read several comments challenging for impeachment, my mistake

We the people Unite against the takeover of our Democracy

Nurselynz's avatar

Calling my local one a "labor strike and peaceful protest" to encourage people to disrupt our economic system at the same time! It's time to start walking out of jobs and classrooms. Let's use our presence as much as we use our voices!

T.W.'s avatar

I love the idea because it's may day but I have been participating but may 1st is not on a weekend and this is going to mean much smaller numbers. We need to be building those numbers and holding rallies during the week will drop them

Nurselynz's avatar

Weekends turn out better numbers, but there is a lot of historical significance to May 1st specifically.

joyjoy82's avatar

The past two protests have produced little to no impact. The media refuses to give our current approach coverage.

Thinking is should be easy and convenient… we are already defeated.

When people aren’t willing to strike and walk off jobs, out of classrooms and unite with one voice, shutting down everything, demanding arrests of top officials, protecting our Democracy, and supporting our Constitution, we will never succeed, and maybe should just accept our Dictator and the demise of our Democracy.

Phyllis Robinson's avatar

I agree weekends better turnout numbers!!!🥊🥊🥊💯🇺🇸💙

Patricia Ebert's avatar

I too, think the weekend will draw bigger crowds— and numbers are important. Do love the chant, ‘Impeach or lose your seat’. I’d shout that till my voice was GONE ♥️👏♥️👏👏

Linda (Evanston IL)'s avatar

There would be many more people on May 3, in my opinion. We can’t just walk out of classrooms or medical offices & clinics!

Organic Mom's avatar

Ours will be held at 5pm so workers can come and we get the rush hour traffic

Michelle R McIlree's avatar

As someone who works full time I like the idea of hitting our downtown or suburban street corners during rush hour. Could do it in the morning also. I know this doesn't work for everyone, I don't have young children anymore so that's why it works for me.

Kat's avatar

A bad plan. People leave work at 5. They don’t all work near the protest site. There are long commutes and childcare needs.

Phyllis Robinson's avatar

I agree change date to May 3 more participants!!!!🇺🇸💙🥊👍🏽

Karyle Tong's avatar

I’m organizing a street protest on May 3rd and would love some chant recommendations! Stay Strong, we got this!❤️✌️🇺🇸

Mirajill's avatar

Love Not Hate Makes America Great was a chant everyone got behind at our Protect Democracy gathering. Show me what Democracy looks like - reply This is what democracy looks like then options show me how democracy sounds, etc.

This was the first time we had speakers, and it was very engaging. It gave our statewide organizations a chance to show people how they could act locally. We had a female veteran that spoke to decreases in VA benefits, and a farmer that is in his community a minority, here in Missouri, talking about how he wants a better world for his granddaughters.

Jamie LaMoreaux's avatar

You could always sing "If I Had a Hammer" it's a great protest song and very relevant.

Paul Patenaude's avatar

Chant: “STANDUP !, IMPEACH !, or LOSE YOUR SEAT !!!”

Phyllis Robinson's avatar

Love this chant, the same chant all over the country would be effective, start a movement about impeachment and congress losing their seats if they don’t do the right thing and cross the aisle to vote with Democrats 💯💙🇺🇸🥊

Michelle Slabodkin's avatar

Perfect! We should definitely ALL be chanting the same phrase! In every protest, in every state. I vote for this one. IMHO

Mirajill's avatar

Just heard this in a recording from a protest at Washington DC “If the Supreme Court can be defied, then our democracy has truly died”.

Phyllis Robinson's avatar

Stand Up, Impeach, or lose Your seat!!!!🇺🇸💙💯🥊👍🏽

Protest Chant: NOT FREE, STILL BRAVE! Works well in a march situation. Good cadence call as we deploy in action.

Sarah Thompson's avatar

1. There should be protesting on May 1st and 3rd. Historically, May Day is important for labor protests so that should happen. However, the bigger protests occur on Saturdays because school, work, etc is such a huge obstacle for most folks. More protests is a great thing though.

2. Like Joan of Arc, the Lord speaketh to me and say, “Lo, people of protests, you must go forth and protest as clowns 🤡. Dress as clowns 🤡 and paint your faces. Show your unholy leaders themselves as you see them. Be their mirror and jeer them. Mock them for who they are in perfect political satire.”

So there you go. Protest both days and we should clown the fuck out of the administration as clowns 🤡 . Millions and millions of clowns flooding the streets; impossible to ignore and fodder for the world’s attention.

Mommadukes's avatar

I’ll be marching in Richmond VA 2000+strong yesterday!

Everyday is a Workers Day 💪 We are the ones that make America, not the Billionaires and Corporations. May 1st 2025 we hit the streets to make Our Voices Heard. Rock On "50501" and F47 ! Wil reStack ASAP 💯👍 🗽 ⚖️ 🇺🇸

Mtugendhat@me.com's avatar

Labor strikes are often difficult to impossible for hourly workers both because of lost wages and danger of job loss. I think a Saturday is better.

Phyllis Robinson's avatar

I agree May 3!!!💙🇺🇸🥊

Jamie LaMoreaux's avatar

Especially in a right to work state. Getting fired is a real possibility.

Phyllis Robinson's avatar

Hope they change to May 3 no work conflicts!!!

Patricia E.'s avatar

Maybe hold protests in front of mainstream media outlets. Guarantees that they get the message and cannot ignore us. Also recommend we adopt the penguin as our mascot. Easy to draw (see YouTube!), adorable and people love it, and mocks Trump—all at the same time!

Cynthia Eklund's avatar

Agree—move date to May 3, a Saturday.

I hate to be a buzzkill, but why are we celebrating workers, when RULE OF LAW is on the line?? I’d love to honor workers— but right now we are on the cusp of a (Trump-made) recession. Trump’s chaotic , irrational tariffs have disrupted the world’s economy. The dollar is falling. Every friggin’ day Trump ignores the rule of law. trump takes valid recipients out of Social Security and puts them in the “death file”? Trump exports people without giving them their Constitutional right of Due Process first??? This fascist behavior must be stopped. TODAY. We can honor our workers in a month or two. Just, not now. Every person in America is a potential victim of Trumps vengeance and retribution. Stopping his irrational, dangerous orders is our priority.

—-add chant: “IMPEACH or lose your seat!” We need to send a loud message to the House and to the Senate. We’re sick and tired of Trump’s non-stop THREATS and non-stop executive orders that are ALL clearly unconstitutional. His cruelty, divisiveness and constant chaos is destroying and bankrupting the nation. The Felon-in-Chief is tormenting and extorting every Republican in government. Representatives and Senators MUST take control back. Pull the Orange “bandaid” off— fast. Just do it. End this nightmare.

If the goal is to get huge numbers of people out to demonstrate, it seems a weekend would be best.

I agree and so do many others please consider 50501?
