This is who we've become. Fearing, shunning, rejecting what we consider the "other." This hate of those different will return to us 10 fold...AND we'll deserved. Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves!
Seemingly, most of US would rather whine on social media than get off our arses and actually make “good trouble” and I do not connote that with fear at all. Terror in America is in the process of normalizing as long as it’s You and not Me. Most of US aren’t afraid of much—we view the horrors of war, starvation, illness, and Trump as well as his predatory Cabinet daily. We are being indoctrinated and don’t even realize it! Juan Nicolas isn’t the first baby disregarded and he won’t be the last until WE rise up in large numbers about it. This will require more action than a quarterly March. It will require Action on the majority’s part—actually doing something other than texting. I don’t know why people aren’t sick and tired of the antics in the US; but I do know this: the Power for Good is All that can beat Evil and you choose.
Remember this: the Power is yours IF you take it and that Power is collective.
Thank you for saying this. What moves the needle is consistent, repeatable action. A lot of people feel outraged online, but the moment requires “good trouble” now.
Exactly! I'm so concerned about the DHS shut down because of the Democratic demands on ICE, ie, masking, cameras, badge numbers. It tells me that the occupation of our cities by ICE has already been normalized.
I'd been looking forward to going, and then at the last minute the daycare called - the baby had a fever. No one else could get her, so I had to cancel so I could pick her up. She's fine now. The Juan Nicolas story is hitting me hard this morning.
Honestly… getting that daycare fever call is exactly why this hits so hard. Babies need care and safety, not confinement. And thank you for making the effort in the first place, 50501 is built on people doing what they can, when they can... all efforts add up! :)
Thank you! I've been looking around online to see how it went, haven't found anything so far. I hope someone else was able to pick up the torch. We were headed for Pallone's office in New Brunswick, NJ.
The child and her mother have been deported to Mexico. They left the family over the border in the middle of nowhere with a sick child. They don't care if the child dies, so long as it's out of their jurisdiction. What a fucking country!
Stop trying to get the "news" from the regular channels they are all beholden to trump. Check out the Independent newscasters on sub stack! I'm in the UK and get information about everything the minute it happens. What the hells wrong with you people. Do you live in a cave and only surface when it's time to go shopping!
Juan Nicolás and other children going thru the INHUMANE treatment by ICE should be enough for the fkn DEMS to get courage to INCARCERATE THIS FUCKING ENTIRE ADMINISTRATION.
As with everything from the Trump regime, the cruelty is the point and the intended result is more money for Trump. Trump 2.0 is all about punishing the American public and further enriching the top 1%. They want to become so far removed from average Americans that they become completely untouchable.
I agree with posters who have expressed the feeling that this action was not publicized nearly soon enough, nor widely enough!
I know absolutely that there are many, many people who still want to get involved, but really aren't sure how. Please publicize these events sooner. (Maybe even send emails with the gigantic database of interested people you surely have, for one.)
I think your organizational skills leave a hell of a lot to be desired.
It is not our fault that they came here illegally. If they didn't break the law, they would not have been in a detention facility. If there is such an affordability and housing crisis in the US, there is no way we could have absorbed the 10s of millions of UNVETTED illegal migrants that came here. Trump and his admin are trying to get the worst of the worst first, but that doesn't mean everyone else gets a free pass. And it's really hard to get the worst of the worst first when you have cities and states not cooperating with the laws already on the books. We need to think with our brains and leave most emotion out. My grandson had the same respiratory illness, as I did, and most of the people I know recently. While this is sad for anyone, it is only the parents who broke laws fault.

Tuesday I was making calls to contact state representatives to try to keep the governor’s veto in place!
Thank you!!!!!
If everybody acted like you this scourge on your country would have been stopped months ago.

First hearing of this here because "our news" does not find this important enough nor pro-felon45 to report.

Where was this info circulated?
Circulating online, yesterday
Well Lucy I live in the UK and it appears I'm following this trump regime more than some Americans are! Why is that?
Juan Nicolás and other children going thru the INHUMANE treatment by ICE should be enough for the fkn DEMS to get courage to INCARCERATE THIS FUCKING ENTIRE ADMINISTRATION.
So make them!
I AM doing everything I can. If it were up to me these assholes would ALL be in CECOT.

This administration is despicable on all fronts. I didn’t know about showing up at offices, but did write and call representatives.
Impeach Noem. Abolish ICE!
This is not about Christianity. This is about gaining absolute power over everything and anything they can. A weaponized Armageddon is here.
Sad, but not surprising given an administration marked by grift and greed, with not the slightest whiff of compassion or empathy.
Do you live there? If so do something.
We are more than messed up here in America. We are more than criminal. This is NOT OK. Speak up. Speak out. Do it now.

Impeach 47 & Crew!

I hope you don't call yourself Christian, because you're opining directly contrary to Jesus' stated aims.
