ICE Impersonators Forced an Oregon Driver Into an SUV
What happened inside the unmarked SUV and why the people responsible remain unidentified

TL;DR:
On Friday, July 17, two men, one armed with what Oregon State Police confirm to be a rifle, pull over a driver on a rural Oregon highway identifying themselves as ICE. The two armed men force the driver into an unmarked SUV where a third individual awaits and assaults the man. 20 minutes later the men release the driver and flee the scene on foot. Federal Agencies confirm the three men were not federal officers. Keep reading for the full story.
A driver on Oregon Highway 211 near the 5 mile post (just east of Woodburn) was pulled over by two men in a blue or gray SUV with no license plates.
The men were wearing boots, baseball caps, face coverings, green long-sleeve shirts and had on their tactical vests with âPOLICEâ written in large white letters on the front of the vests. Each of the men had on a badge that read âPoliceâ.
One of them was carrying what the OSP officer described as a rifle.
They said they were ICE and said the driver was being detained.
What Oregon State Police confirmed
The driver was pulled from his car and searched.
He was then put in the back seat of the suspectsâ SUV. A third person remained in the SUV the entire time, acting as a guard. The guard assaulted the driver while he was being held in the SUV. The driver was released by the suspects twenty minutes later. The driver then went to the hospital for injuries sustained during the assault.
After some hours at the hospital for injuries to his face, he was discharged and when he returned to his vehicle he received a number of texts on his phone from 971-502-5548. They appeared to be from a law firm representing him regarding the earlier events.
There is no explanation for why the sender of these texts would know that the victim needed a lawyer. OSP contacted federal agencies, and they confirmed that the men were not federal police officers. The FBI is currently investigating the incident.
The sexual-assault allegation
As the story was spreading posts started identifying the victim as a woman who had been sexually assaulted by the third person in the SUV who acted as a guard. OregonLive reported earlier that there was more specific language in the account of the incident that had been âscrubbedâ from the police release.
However, the publicly available evidence doesnât confirm the sexual nature of the assault or the gender of the victim. The assault was reportedly carried out by the third person in the SUV, described by the police as the âguardâ or âwatchâ but in both releases of the information from OSP, the assault is described without elaboration as to what the assault was.
OSP hasnât revealed specifics about the assault but both releases have described the assault to be perpetrated by the third individual acting as guard to the victim.
There might be information thatâs not released in order to protect the victim and or to allow the agency to continue an active investigation but none has been given to the public as to why certain information is not being released.
The disguise
This is a typical way that ICE operate. Covered faces, a fake âPOLICEâ sign with no department listed, an unmarked SUV, a visible gun. And, for good measure, a completely unverifiable set of demands on the driver to comply immediately.
Oregon saw this coming
Oregon passed House Bill 4138, the Law Enforcement Accountability and Visibility Act, which took effect on March 31st.
The legislation has two main provisions: first, law enforcement must âwear clothing that visibly displays their name and identifying number as well as the name of their employing agency,â and, second, an agency as a whole may cover their faces in the course of their work for 180 days after which time no individual officer may do so.
On May 27, the City Council there passed an ordinance, âRight to Know Whoâs Policing Youâ, which requires police to investigate individuals detaining or stopping members of public for reasons unknown to them who do not display proper credentials. As reported by the Oregonian, City Councilor Sameer Kanal made clear that this ordinance wouldnât unmask federal agents in Portland, because the City of Portland is already locked in a court of law with feds regarding their use of masks in this city.
How can the government demand immediate obedience when the public has no reliable way to verify who is hiding behind the mask?
This could happen to anyone.

When thugs in masks refuse to show their ID,;when the ICE maintains the reason is the fear their agents will be "doxxed"; when ordinary law enforcement and FBI don't masked themselves and will show ID; when the US government employs ICE as paramilitaries to not only pick up illegal immigrants they've identified, but anyone who might LOOK like one, or anyone who doesn't stop for them, or anyone who they say is using their car as a weapon, or detain protestors who haven't done anything but exercise their Constitutional right to protest . . .then we HAVE an authoritarian state.
