What an historic reflection of our society - a Department of Justice that offers an “out” to sexual abusers of children. How is America great again?

The question is how long have they been doing this? This may just be the most public occurrence. We need to take advantage of this situation to fix a broken system.

There will be many broken systems exposed when he is done (education, healthcare, immigration, capitalism, to name a few); this one may be the most egregious and harmful.

I’m in Italy at the moment. People are watching and waiting. America under Donald Trump and his band of merry sycophants is no longer a beacon of anything. We will not recover our status in the world until we are cleansed of this monstrous group, and even then I believe our recovery will take decades.

“The Epstein Files Transparency Act sits on DJT’s desk this am after the Senate unanimously passed it, following 427-1 HOR vote to force DOJ to release all files” Rubia Garcia II 24 in 24

No they’re not. It’s been scrubbed. The senate never unanimously does anything.

You seem to have overlooked an important detail. (Unless I missed you mentioning it.) The House bill explicitly exempts material that is involved in a current investigation. This point is very pertinent. Why? Because the fact the bill itself makes this point will make it much more difficult to fight the regime's obstruction in court. We know full well from the timeline of events that Don's new assignment to the Southern District of New York (pursuant to the President's order to go after Democrat suspects) is bogus and disingenuous. The problem is that courts are reluctant to rule that way preemptively. So Congress donated a fig leaf to DJT.

I don’t think the article mentions that portion, but it does mention that Trump ordered additional investigations only a few days before the vote happened, thank you for the additional clarification!

As Shakespeare wrote, “Something is rotten in Denmark.” That the DOJ can withhold information deemed tied to an ongoing investigation explains the sudden about-face by tRump now claiming he’ll sign the bill. I fear this will be yet another travesty of justice in the making for the Epstein survivors and their families.

Nothing the republicans and trump do is legit. It’s all a clown show and orange jabba the butt is the barker.

“…new investigation… “

says it all.

Trump NEVER tells the truth. Sooooo… take it from there !

Nigel Munisamy's avatar

Did Trump not assert that he could shoot someone on 5th Ave with no consequences? Even after a calculated 30 day delay and the suspected scrubbing he has a back stop!

So the lone no vote on the bill, is he in the file?

In many ways this 'show' is just to appease falsely that they care about the survivors, but when all the pertinent info is extracted or redacted, covering up names that matter, these Epstein files no longer carry the substantial validation that they once did & these courageous women survivors will once more not receive the justice they deserve. It's so sad that they truly wanted this to finally be over, celebrate their chance for a victory & guilty parties pay for the violations against them, but it won't happen (the reason the WH began a new investigation into Dems involved to postpone even more once again) to string this along & falsely give the impression that GOP actually cared about these women or breaking this ring of sex trafficking-ain't gonna happen. It's sickening & disgusting the games the government plays with real people's lives and possibility of healing or change. It’s a sham, this cover-up (I believe) will continue, under the guise that they're working on it, investigating. Most of us see the truth & in part, know the guilty & each survivor (& victim) have spoken out & books have been written, interviews, recorded info has shown us that no matter what - too many of the rich & famous will once again get by - get off and no consequences will take place, even with the Epstein files released (because they are all cleaned up just like the speaker claims he wanted the senate to do, of the names of the innocent - no, it was the names of the guilty that they wanted time to remove or fix).
