From “record” Black Friday sales to a Congress quietly heading for the exits, a surprise win in Miami, and a full year of Trump’s sh*tposting presidency in one place.
The State Senators in Indiana standing up to Trump last night was huge. My great grandparents were very active in Democratic politics in Indiana in their county and our family learned to pay attention, vote, organize, support unions, support New Deal policies, as a result. Watching the conventions of both parties was must see TV in their basement in the summer. They taught us to vote what was best for our local community. To reach across the aisle to at least understand what was important to them and find common values. Progressive solutions can work for centrist needs. So what's happening in Indiana, Tennessee, Florida, Illinois, Georgia, that all matters. My mom and husband and I all cheered last night and feel hopeful. That matters.
I have only bought one Christmas gift. And electronic item at Costco. Avoiding Amazon like the plague, and about to cancel my Apple subscription since the Apple news is now ‘light’ on news.
The same here. My Christmas purchases were made during July-August, winter here, when there are no shopping. I bought edibles, always welcome to my family.

Thank you great post and tips! We the people have the power let’s keep on walking, keep on talking and making good peaceful noise to defend our Democracy
There’s another group that keeps track of trump daily maybe not as much of yours. They have it daily from 2011 to 2021. Then started back up Jan 2025 they keep tracked daily and then post it monthly. It’s McSweeneys Lest We Forget The Horrors: A Catalog Of Trumps Worst Cruelties, Collusions, Corruptions, And Crimes.
We’re avoiding Amazon and will cancel Prime when it comes up for renewal in January. Also, we’re looking for other music streaming. We’re buying original art from friends, as gifts. We’re also giving cash instead of gift cards to our local service providers.
Good news! In TX-21, Chip Roy is abandoning his seat to seek Ken Paxton’s AG seat, while Paxton seeks John Cornyn’s position in the US Senate.
Dr. Kristin Hook, who made inroads against Roy in the last election, will run again. She is awesome. It will be a contested Democratic primary, so help her out. It’s a great opportunity to flip the district blue!

Yes! Thank you! "Progressive solutions can work for centrist needs" - Brilliantly stated!
It is a wonderful thing to witness!
Thanks for the update. Good idea to keep the archive. Alot of us buy for ourselves during the black Friday events. I bought warm clothes.
Black Friday is a great time to buy necessities! Hopefully you were able to get it from a local business, but that’s not always possible.
Black Friday here is pretty tame, people buy through Internet. There is no stampede as in the USA, with people bursting through the doors.

Excellent briefing. Thanks.
I would like to see an article on who is writing 50501 articles abd the source of funding.
Thank you for all the research and advice that you put in your newsletter. It really helps!
Thanks for all you’re doing to inform and document. I just didn’t buy over Black Friday weekend.

Yes. I did not spend at all.

How about a massive nation wide protest on January 6th?
We boycotted big businesses and instead supported small retailers at an art fair at my food co-op. It was fun!

Thanks for keeping the receipts of Trump’s posts. History will judge.

Great summary looks like the shift to small local is working
