It seems that people are so fatigued with the constant barrage of BS this administration throws at us daily, there's not as much open discussion about what to do about it. I'm at a loss as well. I write, I read I vote, I demonstrate. I'm worried sick.
Yes, this season feels different. I am concerned that results will be rejected and overturned in favor of the ruling party, and our voices will be ignored. GET OUT AND VOTE!
I have noticed lately the burnout that I feel from the constant flood of chaos and news is also becoming obvious in the MAGA world. And some infuencers and now pushing the the 'truth' that it is ALL FAKE NEWS. Husband and several other MAGA devotees and totally falling fir this dystopian lie. No news, not one channel or news provider is reporting the truth. It is a last ditch effort to make people give up any hope for clarity or action. The death of any information that can be believed. It is spreading like. wildfire.
Yes. It is the most important election of our lifetimes. We will find out if the GOP refuses to accept the results of a free and fair election again. Chances are very high that they will steal the election. If this happens, this is the end of democracy in our country.
It feels as if the GOP no longer stands for anything but using elected office for profit. It feels as if SCOTUS judges themselves are part of the justice delayed = justice denied equation. The rule of law seems conflated with what's needed for one-party rule. It feels as if the middle class dream is just gone and fascism is the dream of those that would loot the country.
The inability of judges to maintain the rule of law at the highest level-- the shame of Clarence Thomas selling himself to a billionaire so that he could have a touring van-- is the smallest encapsulation of all that's wrong. And the theft of the elections--in 2000, in 2016, and 2024-- can never be settled because the Supreme Court itself is complicit.
Of course it feels different, it IS different! I'm 74 and voted, not always due to school, work, and life, but as I got older I valued it more. We need to leave a functional system for our grandchildren and beyond. I don't have the energy, or financial extra resources, but I'm now on a weekly candidate call bank to get the vote out in our swing state. God help us all.
